Painting and Antifouling

At Hutcheson Boat Builders, we carry out the full range of painting jobs from small gel coat repairs and antifouling to complete boat repaints for any size vessels constructed in wood, fibreglass, aluminium, steel, carbon fibre and Ferro. Using our spectrometer and tinting bases, we can get a good match to the existing paint colours.  The Altex and International Paint Brands are popular with our customers for vessel touch-ups, full repaints, gloss finishes and antifouling.  We have access to the full range of marine paint systems to meet specific customer requirements. We have our own airless machine for spraying fast and smooth antifoul on your hull.

Hutcheson Boat Builders use all the popular antifouling systems to suit individual vessel construction and owner requirements.  For example, high speed vessels require a ‘hard’ antifouling; vessels built in aluminium should not use antifouling paint with a copper content due to the chemical reaction to the aluminium surface and yachts cruising in tropical waters have other requirements.  To get the most life out your antifouling application, it is important to get the right advice on the ideal product for your vessel for the purpose of its intended use.
